With the holidays right around the corner, all South Park fans are anxiously awaiting a visit from their favorite holiday mainstay - Mr. Hankey! He comes to visit every year, bringing presents to all the good boys and girls who ate a diet full of fiber. Of course, he also shares the joy of the holiday season with songs and cheer, leaving poo tracks wherever he appears.
Mr. Hankey was born from the mind of creator Trey Parker. As a child, he had a fear of flushing the toilet. His father would tell him that if he didn't flush the toilet, his poop would become alive as Mr. Hankey and kill him. During his younger years, Parker would continue to draw this murderous piece of poo, until he was transformed into the turd we so deeply cherish today. Thankfully, the Mr. Hankey that we all know and love brings Christmas joy during the holidays.
Each year, Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo appears in the toilet to Kyle. Ironically, Kyle is the only Jewish child on the show. Mr. Hankey, however, is not concerned with the religious choices of the children - he only wants to make sure that they eat their veggies and beans.
Since Kyle is the only resident of South Park that can see Mr. Hankey in the beginning, the other people think that he is going crazy. When the town forgets what Christmas is all about, Mr. Hankey finally reveals himself to the other children. He tells them that they have lost sight of the holidays. His goal is to spread good will and cheer every Christmas season, reminding us what the holidays are truly about.
This season, think of Mr. Hankey every time you use the toilet. You never know when your poo will become alive and sing festive songs of the holidays to you. Oh, and eat more fiber.
