Best Six South Park Clips From Season 8, Part Two: “Good Times With Weapons”
We are now thick in the midst of our ongoing series that we are using to pull the best (at least what we think are the best) six clips from each season of South Park. As we wind our way chronologically backwards through the many seasons of the show, we find ourselves in the middle of Season Eight. Believe it or not, this season had so many great episodes, that summing them down to a mere six for the sake of this series proved to be a rather trying task at hand.
Why This Episode was Awesome
Kids playing with real ninja weapons…what could possibly go wrong? I think this episode demonstrates how fearful people are of getting into trouble. When the boys brandish weapons and accidentally hurt Butters, they are only worried about getting caught and grounded. They devise many different plans to cover up their schemes and in the end only make things worse for themselves. Sounds a lot like human nature doesn’t it?
Another Episode that Centers on Butters
Yet another great episode that focuses on the gullible and silly fathoming of one Butters Stotch. This poor little boy gets used and abused by everybody around him. When they tell him that he can’t play with them, the evil Professor Chaos emerges, clad in tin foil from his lair; Butter’s closet. Throughout the remainder of the episode, Butters will get a ninja star lodged in his eye, he will be dragged around town literally dying, and then he will be dressed up like a dog. Eventually finding himself at the pound where they nearly put him to sleep before he is saved by his so-called friends. Got to love Butters, don’t you?
Best Clip from Fun With Weapons: “Professor Chaos”
So what happens when four boys who are an average of eight years old devise a plan to thwart a weapons peddler at a local county fair into selling them ninja weapons? They all suddenly turn into animated (Japanese style) characters that have super ninja powers and battle it out in the highlands of the forests that back their rural town. When an unsuspecting Butters – turned into the evil Professor Chaos – challenges them to a duel, one Kenny (super ninja extraordinaire) chucks a shuriken into Butters eye, creating a world of listlessness and a most certain medical emergency that needs to be covered up to avoid being grounded for the boys of South Park.
