Best Six Clips from Season 10: Part Four, “Al Gore is Super Awesome”
Part four of our trip down memory lane of the best six clips from season 10 of South Park is well underway! This time we decided to take a look at the only episode in the season that pokes fun at former US vice president, Al Gore. The show had not really made fun this poor chap until now. But, when they finally decided to target Mr. Gore, they didn’t leave anything behind. If you do recall, following his stint as a vice president under Clinton, and after losing an election bid, that was controversial to say the least, against George Bush, Gore resorted to informing the world of the imminent danger posed by the threat of Global Warming and Greenhouse Gases.
You Thought Global Warming…Wrong!
But…this episode really doesn’t touch Gore’s outcry in the fight against Global Warming and awareness. Rather, the former vice president is depressed because following his election bid loss to Bush, he feels like nobody likes him anymore. When he is hired to give a presentation to the school, which is supposed to about Global Warming Awareness, he instead opts to teach the children about a dangerous, imaginary creature: Man Bear Pig. As Gore states, this creature is half man, half bear, and half pig.
Al Gore is Easy to Make Fun of!
We are not so certain why they decided to really destroy Al Gore in this episode, but one thing is for sure: it is really freaking funny when they do. An especially funny scene occurs when Gore confronts the boy on the community basketball court, dressed as Man-Bear-Pig. He is somehow able to convince the boys to join him on his hunt for the mythical beast at a nearby tourist cave attraction. This is when Cartman thinks he finds buried, secret treasure and eats it to hide it from his friends. In so many words: this episode is one of best from season 10.
