Best Six Clips from Season 10: Part Five, “Death of Chef”

Part five of our six-part series on the best clips from Season 10 of South Park is underway. This time we take a look at one of the most notorious episodes that season ten had to offer, “Chef Returns.” After a falling out with the voice actor that played Chef, the makers of the show decided that it would be best to get back at him by killing off his character in the show. What ensues is a hilarious thrill ride of an episode, perhaps one of the best episodes of the show ever made!

South Park Attacks the Child Molester Group, The Super Adventure Club
Another group that has much to hide is exposed for what they really are on South Park! The Super Adventure Club is actually a group of people that travel around the world trying to molest children in different countries. South Park makers realized this and decided that it would be great fun to make fun of them. After some digging, they retell the story of the Super Adventure Club, flashing a bright sign on the screen while they are doing so exclaiming, “This is what the Super Adventure Club Really Believes.”

Why They Killed Chef
If you always wondered why Trey Parker and Matt Stone killed off one of the most famous and the oldest, original characters from South Park, Chef, here is why. For years South Park has bashed all sorts of races, religions and clubs, exposing them for what they really are. Namely, they have bashed Scientology several times, and Isaac Hayes (now deceased) was the voice of chef. When South Park pushed the limits with an episode that totally tore apart Scientology called, “Trapped in the Closet,” Hayes quit the show citing irreconcilable differences. This was the backlash that Parker and Stone offered to Hayes: turn his character into a child molester and kill him off.

Perhaps what is one of the most memorable clips from season 10, “Death of Chef,” is great on so many different levels. When the boys are unable to convince a brainwashed Chef to leave the child molesting Super Adventure Club, Chef falls from off a high wooden walkway to a ravine below. Just when they think everything will be okay, wild animals come out and start eating him alive.
