Cartman to be a Pirate Leader in Tonight’s Mid-Season Finale (4/22/09)

If you have been waiting as long as I have for the mid-season finale of South Park to finally commence, then tonight is the night people! That’s right! You see, this show has become so rampantly popular that the makers of the show – Trey Parker and Matt Stone – as well as the network, Comedy Central, have decided in recent seasons to actually split the show up over the year. This means that you get around six episodes from March to May…then you get six new episodes again from September through December. A cool idea, but still, it sucks having to wait for it to be spaced out like that. Anyways, tonight, Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009, is the night for the mid-season finale, which means that they will pull out all stops to make us laugh and cry (yay)!

Finally – it Appears There will be Another Episode Featuring Eric Cartman
After many different episodes all featuring Stan’s dad, Randy Marsh, it will be nice to see the show go back to its traditional roots with an episode that appears to be featuring one Eric Cartman. Finally they will veer away from Randy for a change and use the evil Cartman to solidify an episode. I get it: Randy is funny. But seriously, they have been straying far too far from their roots and it will be nice to see a newer episode that centers on the boys and their doings for a change.

South Park Touches Lightly on Another Prevalent Social Issue!
In this classic notion of the makers of the show recalling what makes it so great, tonight it seems like they are back in business. The episode for tonight is called, “Swashbuckling.” It takes a bit from the recent news happenings of all of the pirating that is going on around the waters near Somalia. This is what the show has done so well over the years – and what has made it so successful – they take bits and pieces of news and popular culture and mold them into something hilarious!
