What if the funniest show in the world created the lamest joke that you ever heard of? Then they decided that the lame joke was indeed actually funny, somehow? After that they went out of their way to make the most lackluster episode ever created in nearly the entire history of the show—one that centered around a joke that would not even make a second grader laugh or emit a noticeable chuckle? Well if you did all this and you were biding on the popularity that a show like South Park does, then you would have the most recent episode, “Fishsticks.”
Did they Even Try?
This was the first question that popped into my head numerous times after viewing the flop of an episode that aired April 8th on Comedy Central: did they even try for this one, or did Trey Parker and Matt Stone take the day off from work and leave it to their team of crack writers to muck up such a great show? I am not saying this to make a rise; it is because it’s true. Nobody loves that show as much as I do, and even I was not impressed. Basically Cartman and Timmy make up a joke about how fish sticks sound like fish dicks, and because you like to put them in your mouth, that makes you a gay fish. Exactly, it is as stupid as it comes. When Kanye West doesn’t get the joke, he goes on a murderous rampage.
Will Kanye West Sue?
I think that they really made this episode to bash Kanye West. Because the entire episode from nearly the start pokes fun at him for many recent tabloids exploits. And if you are going to poke fun at one of the best selling musicians of all time (trust me I am not a fan) you had better be prepared to get sued for big bucks. Not that Parker and Stone really care anyways!
A Clip so you can See for Yourselves!
In this clip called, “Breaded and Genius,” Kanye West is using a white board to try and decipher just what this jokes means to him, and why everybody is calling him a gay fish! Because he considers himself to be a genius, he is very perplexed that he does not get the mainstay of the joke.
